CALL FOR PAPERS
Globe: A Journal of Language, Culture and Communication, or Globe for short, is a peer-reviewed language and linguistics journal. Globe is anchored at Aalborg University in Denmark and is managed by the Languages
Interest Group – a subgroup of the Research Group for Communication, Language and Discourse.

The 19th issue of Globe is scheduled for publication in December 2025.
Articles will be pre-published on an ongoing basis and will be collected in an issue every December. Submission
deadline is 15 August. Manuscripts received after this deadline will be considered for publication in the
following issue.

Submitted articles should have either a narrow focus on language or on language in relation to an adjacent
area, such as communication studies or cultural studies. Globe accepts language-specific articles on the
Germanic languages, i.e. Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Faeroese, Icelandic, English, German, Dutch, Afrikaans,
Frisian, Yiddish and Scots. We also welcome articles on general linguistic theory not focused on any specific
language and reviews of relevant scientific monographs.

The editorial team hereby invites researchers to submit contributions in English, German or Danish (which are
the publication languages of the journal) within one or several of the following areas:

• Language(s) (grammar, lexis, morphology, phonetics, phonology, pragmatics, syntax, semantics, etc.)
• Language processing
• First and second language acquisition, learning and teaching
• Translation studies
• Philosophy of language
• Discourse studies with a linguistic focus
• Studies of written genres and stylistics

Globe is published by Aalborg University Open Publishing via the OJS platform which allows for very easy
online submission. You will find specific information on how to submit articles and reviews here.
