Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided, and dates of retrieval specified.
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables are enumerated and placed within the text at the appropriate points.
  • The text has a line space of 1.5, uses a 12-point Times New Roman, is minimally formatted.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, make sure the instructions in Ensuring A Blind Review, have been followed.

Author Guidelines

We accept, and publish, articles and reviews in the following languages: English, German, Spanish, and Danish.

  • Articles should include an abstract in English regardless of the language of the article itself; the abstract should be no longer than 300 words.
  • Articles should be no shorter than 4000 words and no longer than 15000 words, excluding bibliography and tables/figures/illustrations.
  • Reviews should be no longer than 2500 words and no shorter than 1500 words.Reviews should not include abstracts.
  • Articles and reviews should be submitted in .doc- or .docx-formats. In size 12 Times New Roman with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Remember to make sure that submissions for the thematic sections and open sections are kept anonymous. For more information on how to ensure double-blind reviewing, click here.
  • Authors should make sure that their manuscripts are relevant to the focus and scope of Globe.

Note that, in order to submit an article or a review, you have to register with the journal as an author prior to submitting or, if already registered as an author, you can simply log in and begin the five-step process. Registration, submission and publication in Globe is at all points free of charge.
