Resumen

The paper presents long-term trends in mobility and some of their driving forces for the years 1929-1994 in the Scandinavian countries Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The paper discusses conceptual issues and questions the position that mobililty can be significantly influenced by socially, acceptable policy instruments.
