The Proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Disability, Virtual Reality & Associated Technologies (ICDVRAT 2026) contain the contributions presented at ICDVRAT 2026, which takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 15 to 18 September 2026.

The conference marks the 30th anniversary of the ICDVRAT conference series and brings together participants from 17 countries.

The proceedings reflect the interdisciplinary scope of the conference and include research and development related to disability, accessibility, virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, rehabilitation, healthcare, education, and associated technologies. Contributions are organised across themes including AI and social interaction, stroke and neuromotor rehabilitation, autism spectrum disorders, mental health applications of VR, biosensing and neuroadaptive systems, embodiment and immersion, accessibility and inclusion, cognitive assessment and training, and education and pedagogy.

Since its inception in 1996, ICDVRAT has provided a meeting place for researchers, clinicians, practitioners, technology developers, and users interested in the application of virtual reality and associated technologies in disability, rehabilitation, healthcare, and inclusion. The 2026 proceedings continue this tradition by presenting current research and emerging perspectives from an international community working across disciplines and sectors.
