It is the assumption of the article that films contain both ideology and utopia when they depict the actual world. The empirical case analysed is the film Sin nombre (No name, Cary Fukunaga, 2009). It represents two basic questions of the global world: a) illegal emigration from South to North, in this case from Central America through Mexico to the U.S.A. and b) the violence of youth gangs, crime and parallel culture.
