Abstract | Abstract
This article introduces the special issue devoted to exploring generative AI in collaborative learning environments. It argues for this focus by referring to the limited work in the area, but at the same time exemplifies the limited existing research. It goes on to introduce the social-material and computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) perspectives that were encouraged in the call for the issue. Finally, the article introduces the contributions to the issue.
