The article specifically focusses on sound logos or rather melody logos, i.e. melodical figures that are used as signature for specific brands, and in this way create a musical counterpart to visually animated logos (Bronner, 2004, p.39). Recent examples from businesses in Denmark with specifically designed melody logos comprise SKAT, Dyrup, Børsen, Svendborg Kom¬mune, Q8, Vestas, Danske Spil, Fakta, Nordea and Louis Nielsen. Correspondingly, a handful of sound branding firms have been established in Denmark, such as Soundbranding (formerly Audio Management), Sonic Minds (formerly Sonic Branding®), and Audiowise. They all specialize in the production of musical sound identities, including melody logos.
