Abstract

SQL is a widely used tool within databases. For those of us who work with geographic data, databases are typically also part of our work area. And for us there are extensions or adaptations to SQL that make it possible to work with the geographical aspects of data. In this article, I will provide a number of examples of geographic SQL queries in MapInfo Pro and in PostgreSQL with PostGIS.
