This special issue of Academic Quarter explores the role of serial drama as a catalyst for promoting gender equality among European youth. In response to growing resistance against efforts to advance gender equity – amplified by influential figures and digital platforms – this issue highlights how media, particularly serial drama, can serve as a powerful educational and transformative tool. Contributors examine how serialized storytelling fosters empathy, critical thinking, and awareness by portraying nuanced gender dynamics and challenging stereotypes.
