Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been published previously, nor is it submitted to another journal for review.
  • The submitted file is in Microsoft Word file format (.docx) and follows the Perspektiv template.
  • Literature references are made using the Harvard method, cf. the author's guide.
  • All necessary permissions for publishing illustrations and graphics have been obtained by the author.
  • Please make sure you have the right to publish illustrations, if any
  • Illustrations, figures, and tables are positioned in the text, where they belong, and eventually attached to the submission as separate files.

Author Guidelines

Article Formatting Requirements for Geoforum Perspektiv

Use this template (in Danish) or the following style requirements.

Also, please use the guidelines (in Danish) for authors.

These guidelines include descriptions of the fonts, spacing, and related information for producing your article. If in doubt, contact one of the Editors at Geoforum Perspektiv

Title (Arial, 14 Point, Bold, Title case and centered)

Abstract: Each paper should have a short abstract as the first paragraph followed by a list of keywords.

1. Section Title (Arial, 11 point, Bold and left aligned with one blank line between preceding paragraph and the new title)

1.1 Subsection Titles (Arial, 11pt, bold and left aligned and there should be one blank line between preceding paragraph and the new sub title)

Normal text should be Arial, 11pt. Please use single line spacing - do not double-space your paper. Paragraphs should be separated by a single blank line. There should be no indentation at the beginning of the paragraph. Paragraphs should be justified to both margins (Top: 5cm, Bottom: 5cm, Left: 3.5cm, Right: 3.5cm). When setting margins, please use as default A4 sized paper (21x29.7 cms). 

Please do not use footers or headers. Page numbers will be inserted when the paper is published. To help the editors, eliminate automatic cross-references in the final version of your paper. Ensure that all URLs are valid at the time of submitting the paper.

Footnotes: To help your readers, avoid using footnotes and include necessary peripheral observations in the text (within parentheses, if you prefer, as in this sentence). If a footnote is needed, place it at the bottom on the page on which it is referenced .

Caption and number every illustration, figure and table. The caption should appear in 10pt Arial Bold at the top of each figure. Illustrations, figures and tables should be centered.

References should be indicated in the text with the last name of the first author and year of publication (e.g. Riecken et al, 2003). References should be listed in alphabetical order and presented as shown in the example at the end of this document. Use Arial 11-pt, single-spaced, flush left, with 6pt spacing after each reference, first line hanging by 1.27 cm.

Although you do not need to submit your paper in hardcopy, please make sure that your paper file is printable and the printout looks fine, before you submit the file.  

REFERENCES All references should be in alphabetical order in one single list. Below are some examples of how to reference articles, reports, book chapters etc. Nevertheless, do not make separate lists for each type of resource, please. If in doubt, look at previously published articles.

Example how to reference Articles in journals: Crown, T.and M. Collins (2009). Geographical information systems, Geoforum Perspektiv, Volume 22. Geoforum Denmark. P. 23-32.

Example of Reports: Reader, J. (1999). PP-GIS – possiblities and obsticals in Doe, J. (Ed.) GIS in new shapes and ways. Glencoe, Ill.: Free Press, pp. 167–279.
